Education report examines local schools

What is the state of public K-12 education in Chattanooga? Some organizations are not happy. It depends on your address. In schools with low levels of economic disadvantage, pupils perform relatively well on standardized tests and they are unlikely to be suspended from school. It can be a circle of pain for them without help. In schools with high levels of economic disadvantage, elementary, middle and high schools perform poorly on standardized tests and the relative number of student disciplinary problems is high.

What's more, health problems can develop in poverty-stricken areas, everywhere from rare strange diseases to simple sleep apnea (which can be solved, with the right implements. Read more here.)
